Getting Started with Skillsheet
What Is Skillsheet?
Skillsheet is an AI-powered recruiting platform that helps you stand out to employers through a verified professional profile. Instead of sending the same static resume to every job, you take a short AI-driven video interview that evaluates your skills, communication, and experience. The result is a skillsheet — a shareable, scored profile that gives recruiters a much richer picture of who you are.
Tip
Think of it as a verified professional profile that goes far beyond a traditional resume. Recruiters on the platform can search for candidates by skill, score, and experience — which means your skillsheet works for you even when you are not actively applying.

What You Need
Before you begin, make sure you have the following:
Browser
Skillsheet works best in a modern web browser. We recommend:
- Google Chrome (latest version)
- Microsoft Edge (latest version)
- Mozilla Firefox (latest version)
- Safari (latest version on macOS)
Make sure your browser is up to date for the best experience.
Camera
A working webcam is required for the video interview. This can be:
- A built-in laptop camera
- An external USB webcam
- A tablet or phone camera (if using a mobile browser)
Microphone
A working microphone is required so the AI interviewer can hear your responses. Options include:
- A built-in laptop microphone
- A headset with a microphone (recommended for best audio quality)
- An external USB microphone
Internet Connection
A stable internet connection is important for a smooth interview experience. We recommend:
- A broadband connection (at least 5 Mbps upload and download)
- A wired connection if possible, or a strong Wi-Fi signal
- Avoid using public Wi-Fi networks during your interview
Resume
Have a copy of your resume ready in PDF or Word (.docx) format. The platform will parse it automatically to personalize your interview questions.
Quick Checklist
Before starting, confirm you have:
- A modern web browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari)
- A working camera
- A working microphone
- A stable internet connection
- Your resume in PDF or Word format
- A quiet, well-lit space for the interview
What Happens with Your Data
Info
Skillsheet takes your privacy seriously. Here is what to know up front:
- Your video interview is recorded and transcribed to generate your scores and profile.
- You control your public skillsheet URL and can manage your data at any time.
- Recruiters can only see the information on your public skillsheet — they do not see raw interview footage unless you choose to share highlights.
- You can request data deletion at any time from your account settings.
Why Candidates Use Skillsheet
Traditional job applications often feel like sending a resume into a void. Skillsheet changes that:
| Benefit | How It Helps |
|---|---|
| You stand out | A scored, verified profile is far more compelling than a resume alone |
| Recruiters find you | Your skillsheet is discoverable by recruiters searching for your skills |
| No scheduling hassle | Take the interview on your own time, from anywhere |
| Fair evaluation | The AI evaluates everyone using the same criteria, reducing unconscious bias |
| Reusable profile | One interview powers a profile you can share with multiple employers |
